But this is like a completely new stand though. About 6 times bigger than the old east stand which never had a standing problem before. And probably fans don't want to miss out on a new beginning or maybe they might way things are going.

You can say the letters sent out never bothered anyone but fans are too scared of being banned.

Never bothered the BML.... we got 3 or 4 letters... stewards tried a few times... and then gave up... no one got banned for standing...

Gavros, you could have another 5,000 stewards and it won't make any difference if they have no idea what to do when West Ham start smacking the away fans. If they'd have done something about the little wannabes in the Watford end when they started offering everyone out , I doubt the trouble would have started. They got what they deserved and the only sad thing about it was the amount of people that rushed over there not to help their fellow hammers but to video it. I daresay its on YouTube by now .

On current performance they better beef up stewarding by another 1000 at least before Tottenham and Chelsea turn up

the steel roof is covered by the kind of corrugated plastic you see on your grandad's shed

Re: Sit down if you love West Ham
The stewarding in the found today was laughable. They did nothing about the ten gobby twats in the Watford end when it was quite clear it was only going to end one way. When the fourth went lo and behold a few West Ham ran over and gave them a slap and it took the stewards about ten minutes to split them up again. Fuck know what's going to happen when Spurs or Chelsea come over because the stewards shit themselves . It was more entertaining than the last hour of the football.

How about that 'retractable seating" on scaffolding and the huge gaps between the upper and lower tiers with Athletics seats anfmd track visible below?

Oh and that bright green plastic covering the track too.

Black geezer throwing his hi viz off, telling the other bloke 'I ain't your fucking boy'

Being asked to do things they didn't sign up for. Can't blame them.

I just can't work out why no one is looking at those thin immovable barriers that you can sort of rest your folded arms over. Anyone remember those? Have rows of those barriers in every row of the stand and I fail to see how it's dangerous. It would be physically impossible to move forward and actually harder to move forward than it currently is with seats. No possible crushes. Why isn't this a thing?

Building the world's largest cantilever roof and it not even covering the seats could be considered worse, Michael?

You can say the letters sent out never bothered anyone but fans are too scared of being banned. Let's hope the cctv shows the security at fault and not the fans.

Hope everyone got home safe.

Stewards having it amongst themselves on the way out. This is not going to end well.

So it's `the cunts standing up; that fucked it then Eddie yeah??

Re: Sit down if you love West Ham
It's arguable that the atmosphere was massively tainted when the stewards moved in to the cunts standing up. Must've got to the players.

I really hope the club are just involved in sabre rattling here to placate some jobsworth at Newham. If mass banning start happening, the damage it will cause to the relationship between the fanbase and club could be catastrophic, especially at such a critical time.

Sing when you're sitting
You only sing when you're sitting

The verbal abuse by those standing of people asking them to sit down is out of order and those people should #### right off.

However, I prefer to stand too and would if I were in those blocks - instead of the back of the upper tier.

My bigger concern is the poor stewarding everywhere - not the standing. Surprised they didn't mention that.

Good letter from the club. Looking forward to watching my team today, singing where I sit , Payet, Lanzini and the new ones, I'll try not to be distracted by the ugly scenes behind the goals with 'true supporters that have been standing since before their grandparents were born'' being pulled out and banned for standing and being abusive.
I'd rather a few get banned and the queuing 9,000 be let in.
The club has made the effort to get an attractive football team to watch, that's my first priority. The rest is just a sideshow, sort yourselves and sing where you're sitting.
